Life of Pi

This was a wierd novel. This first part seems nonsensical when you are reading it but when you finish the book you understant the fantasy ideas in the first part. Understanding the real story of Pi and his mother in the life boat makes you understand why he made up the fantasy so that he would not think about the way that his mother died. I enjoyed the part of the book where Pi was finding God. In that section I really thought you could learn something. I learned to respect all religions because really they all have the same God. I think that is what Pi found too. I also liked the symbols Yan Martel used with the animals to replace the people in the story. He did a really good job with that. Overall I didn't like the story because I thought it was cruel and too unbelievable.
My group had to work most of the time without me because I was sick but I think I helped with the pictures of the animals that I found. Also I think I helped because I was able to explain the real story of the shipwreck and how the people were in the boat and not animals. In the end I was happy with the presentation of the group. Everyone did their best to make a good presentation.
